The Shape of Addiction

What addiction looks like when you stop looking at the diagnosis

Curating the space between stigmas and life stories

Shanghai Adolescent Addiction Mental Health Art Exhibition

I served as the team leader for a curated art and science exhibition on adolescent mental health, substance use, and behavioral addiction, hosted at Dongming Art+ Space, a community art gallery in Shanghai. I drafted the interview outlines, interviewed people from all walks of life about their experiences and struggles with addiction, and translated those conversations into our exhibition content. I coordinated the text and visual elements, designed the main and sub-posters, and managed the physical exhibition setup. I also created a solo zine, “The Shape of Addiction: Listening to the Unheard Voices”, detailing the personal stories of the former addicts we met. Our final exhibition, “The Shape of Addiction”, combined the science of addiction with zines, artworks, and interactive installations, acquiring over 10,000 views and 5,000 visitors.
