Happy Yellow House

As the bandleader and lead guitarist of Happy Yellow House, I committed to organizing rehearsals, performances, setlists, stage plans, and in making music a meaningful experience for everyone. Through our school’s annual New Year Shows and Let Hope Play charity concerts I co-organized with my fellow peers, we were able to raise over 50,000 RMB, which we donated to schools in Arxan City, Inner Mongolia. Outside of school, I also participated actively at events such as Sound Utopia Music Festival, a public welfare music festival focused on accessibility. In partnership with the Tongzhou Program and the Pudong Federation of Disabled Persons, we combined live music with visual projections and tactile installations so that visually and hearing-impaired audiences could feel the music as well. I also coordinated with organizers and venue staff on tuning, transitions, and lighting to make sure that all went smoothly for performing musicians and bands. Aside from my onstage experiences, I also arranged the lyrics for our original middle school graduation song, “Follow the Light”.
